CASTING CALL (4 Females + 1 Male) for short film
Dear Agents/Actors/Actresses,
I am a 4th year film student from Emily Carr University Vancouver, looking for actors and actresses who are interested in building their portfolio and demo reel.
This film will be a 10-minutes short film, in the form of narrative piece of a journey in coming to terms with the loss of the loved ones and the realisation of the stronger “presence in the absence” of an individual. It is a story about a teenage girl who goes on a trip to find her grandmother. The film will be shot in High Definition (or High Definition Video) format.
I am looking for:
1. female: (looks like) 16 – 19 years old, any race.
Smart, determined, had just been just liberated from parental oppression;
can’t wait to fulfil her delayed mission to see her grandmother
2. female: (looks like) 5 – 9 years old,, any race.
The younger version of Cast 1, innocent little girl who is being raised by her grandmother. Always looks up to grandmother.
3. female: (looks like) 50s – late 60s years old, any race.
An eccentric, energetic, posh person; she raised her granddaughter alone until she was taken by her father. She has a strong character and always look on the bright side of life despite all the life events that fall upon her
4. female/male: must be older than 30; any race.
Works as a garbage collector at the beach throughout his life.

When: Thursday 12th November: 12 pm – 7 pm
Friday 13th November: 12 pm – 5 pm

Estimated shooting dates: between 18th – 27th November 2009.
Estimated shoot days : 3 – 4 days. (most of the scenes will be at daytime and outdoor)
This is not a paid job but compensation will the in the form of a DVD copy of the finished film (specific scenes for demo reel footage will be available upon request). This film requires intense emotional expressions and performance, the footage will probably be good for showreel.

Feature film shooting in Victoria at the end of April is looking for stand-ins and extras who can work as locals in Victoria, (no accomodation allowance will be provided).
- STAND-INS NEEDED: (union with stand-in experience)
- * Male lead stand-in: 6'4", fit, dark hair
- * male child stand-in: 54 1/2" tall, 66 lbs, clothing size 8, shoe size 3
- * female child stand-in: 53" tall, 22" waist, clothing size 8-10, shoe size 2
- EXTRAS NEEDED: (indicate union/apprentice status, on-set experience)
- * young British couple mid 20's with 2 kids, toddler/babe
- * family: wife and 2 kids, 10-13yrs
- * muscle man
- * very GOOD actor, friendly golfer
- * young 20's cello player
- * WAR ROOM-WASHINGTON-these guys and gals are cont for a large portion of the show so need to be fairly available-they should be 25-50 yrs and I will need 25% ethnic in this group
- * ESA-EUROPEAN LOOK/GERMANY-also cont not as many days- 25-50 yrs, 15% ethnic
- * some hip Londoners
- * US President's fam-wife with 2 daughters-late teens
