Take the Inland Island Highway north to Port McNeill, passing Campbell River and Sayward. From Port McNeill there is a Tri-Island ferry running to Alert Bay and Sointula. Daily flights run from Vancouver to Port Hardy, a limousine service is available to Port McNeill; connections are made via ferry to Alert Bay. Scheduled bus services depart daily from all points on Vancouver Island.
