FILM FESTIVAL AWARDS CELEBRATED AT CHAMBER

With 3 new international film festival awards under their belts, Nanaimo filmmakers Cinnabar Vista productions are celebrating with a Media Reception in the boardroom of the Nanaimo Chamber of Commerce, Friday December 12 at 10:00 am.

?We were honoured to be standing on a world stage at the Remi Awards as a Nanaimo business. Even more honoured that the productions the judges recognized were about our own community,? stated Jeff Patton, principal of Cinnabar Vista Productions.

WorldFest-Houston, founder of the ?Remi?s?, is one of the three original international film festivals in
International Film Society. It is the only international film festival in North America to be dedicated
completely to independent films.
Cinnabar Vista was up against some tough competition in the Festival. In fact, their Platinum Award
?Infinite Possibilities?, ?Stz?uminus Land Code?, and ?Nanaimo Economic Development?.

?Infinite Possibilities? is oriented to the tourism visitor market and took home Platinum. ?Over 100
locations were on our shot list, and our talent was drawn from regular folks on-site. It wasn?t hard to
find locals who just love where they live,? according to Patton. ?Stz?uminus Land Code? was awarded
Gold for its depiction of the complex legal situation that could see land and assets change hands from the federal government to the First Nations peoples in Chemainus. ?Nanaimo Economic Development? showcases the city as the perfect place to grow business opportunities.
